Visit AK either when
it first opens or later in the afternoon after 3pm when it will
be quieter & the lines
shorter, especially for the safari.
Head for Kilimanjaro Safaris first, then either Expedition Everest,
Dinosaur or Kali River Rapids. After riding the Safari, get a
Fastpass for the second ride, then go to the other one (e.g.
ride the Safari, get Fastpass for Expedition Everest, then go
to Kali River Rapids). If Expedition Everest is important to
you, go there first.
Make sure you get a guidemap and keep it with you, it's easy to
get disorientated in the park.
When planning which attractions to visit, try to tour all attractions
in each 'land' all at once. To get from 'land' to 'land' you
must go back through Discovery Island each time, which can get
a bit tedious running backwards and forwards across the park.
an exception to this is walking from DinoLand to Asia, where
there is now a new walkway.
Visit the safari first thing in the morning or late afternoon when
the animals are more active.
Try to get an outside seat on the safari bus for the best views.
The most popular and busiest attractions are Expedition Everest,
Dinosaur, Kali River Rapids, Kilimanjaro Safaris, It's Tough
to be a Bug, & Festival
of the Lion King.
In 'It's Tough to be a Bug', sit toward the
back of the theater in the middle to get the best visual effects.
Don't see It's Tough to be a Bug if you are scared of insects.
Try to see one of the first or last two shows
of 'Festival of the Lion King' at AK.
On
Kali River Rapids, place your valuables in the covered section in
the middle of the raft. They may not keeptotally dry, so it may
be worthwhile putting them in a plastic bag first.
Make sure you have enough film with you, especially on the safari,
there are lots of good photo opportunities at AK.
It can get very hot in Animal Kingdom, there isn't much shade, most
attractions are outdoors, and the trees seem to have a 'rainforest
effect' making it feel much hotter. Take a handheld fan or 'Squeeze
Breeze' to keep cool (both are for sale in the park).
Try to make time to get a close look at the Tree of Life & see
how many carved animals you can spot.
If you want to visit the character greeting area in Camp Minnie-Mickey,
go early in the morning or from late afternoon onwards. Try to avoid
going just after the Lion King show has finished.
The quietest rest rooms
are at Chester and Hester's in DinoLand, and the Bradley Falls area
next to the Caravan Stage.
"Make sure to take
binoculars to Animal Kingdom. They have many safari rides and it
helps to get a really good look at the animals." Birkey
"Watch the parade
right by the entrance to It's Tough to be a Bug and go into the
show immediatly after the parade. You will be one of the first into
the show. "
"Line up to watch
the Parade near it's start point in Africa. You can then do a walk
onto the Safari right after the end passes you."
