Kali River Rapids

At Kali River Rapids, guests are launched on 12-person rafts into the turbulent Chakarandi River for a wild, wet ride through a jungle habitat jeopardized by illegal logging. Rafters first travel into a huge bamboo tunnel, where they're enveloped in a jasmine-scented mist as their raft climbs upriver into the headwaters.

Soon their rafts encounter a sweeping waterfall. A giant carved tiger face appears from behind the falls. Gliding beyond to the wondrous rainforest and temple ruins, the raft emerges suddenly from a bamboo thicket, and the sweet jasmine aroma is lost to the acrid smell of burning wood. A discordant note is struck as fires are burning, trees are falling, habitat is destroyed and pristine lands are endangered, a constant threat in Asia. As their raft twists and spins through the river, guests face a denuded landscape of logged-out forest burning wildly. A tangled arch of burning logs looms ahead as the raft rushes toward a fiery doom. Disaster narrowly avoided, more thrills await on a ride through turbulent waters that reveals a surprise around every turn, including an abrupt drop into churning waters.

You are likely to get very wet!

"I enjoyed the ride very much although I have to say it takes sooooooooooooooo to get on the ride and then it doesn't last for long. But the waiting area is very interesting to look and I found out a lot of info before I got on the ride. I definately would recommend using Fastpass because of the ques. Overall I did enjoy this ride very much although our raft did go right through a geyser ... tips: * Definetly use Fastpass or you will be waiting for an age to even get on the ride! * Look out for the little knick-knacks lying around the waiting area as you could find out info you never knew. And you never know it could be a Who wants to be a Millionaire question even if it is the WDW version. I enjoyed this ride throughout and I would recommend it to anyone ... providing their using Fastpass!" Hayley

"This ride was AWESOME!! Our family went together (a group of 12). It was the one ride all of us could be on together and the lines were very short so we were able to go on it again and again! Yes, we all got drenched and loved every minute of it! Our greatest memories came from this ride!!" Shelly

"This was the best River Rapids ride I have been on. We rode it twice. The first time I got wet. The second time I got soaked. Both times we just got in the normal queue which was not too bad for two reasons. One, the queuing system is interesting. It takes you through shop and there is lots of look at too, the queue moves quickly.
tips: Because you never know how wet you will get, if it is a cold day take a change of clothes or buy a poncho. You will need them. Alos remove your shoes and socks or you'll have soggy feet. There is a container in the middle which is supposed to keep things dry but this cannot be guaranteed. My bag and the contents got very wet." Rachel

"I thought that kali river rapids was an aweosme ride. You will get drenched on it!!! I especially liked the drop. I got the fast pass because there was a pretty long wait. tips: If you go on this wear a poncho because you will get wet!" Elizabeth

"This ride is awesome! They really should change the signs from 'You will get wet' to "YOU WILL GET SOAKED!!" Make sure you bring an extra pair of changing clothes. After you go down the first fall, if you are going down with your back to everyone standing in line, you will be the first one to get soaked!!!! Everyone will get wet!!! Even if you try not to! This ride is awesome. I just wish it was longer!!
tips: Bring an extra pair of changing clothes. I would recommend that you go early in the day when it's 90+ degrees outside, or right before you go home. But then you might be to cold." (2/02) Kate

"This ride is great when its really hot and your about to go home because YOU WILL GET SOAKED. Also one person gets a lot wetter than everyone else but theres no telling who its going to be......ive been on it 3 times, 2 times it was me! what happens is theres a steep downward slope and if your going down backwards then the splash comes up and hits you. I wouldnt have been wetter if i had been dipped in a swimming pool with all my clothes on!!!!" Jo

"This is a wonderful rapids ride to go on when it's 90+ degrees outside. One word of advice;either leave this ride for last, just before you're ready to leave, or bring an extra change of clothes because you will get wet! I mean SOAKED!!!!! I just wish they would make it last longer!" Julie Shippee
