Linda Warren is executive vice president, Marketing and Brand Management,
for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.
Her responsibilities include leading the international, domestic and
resident market segments, marketing planning and strategy, and brand
management -- which defines and articulates the vision and essence of
Disney products, whether a theme park, resort hotel or entertainment
product, and also provides resource and process management to develop
and shape the continued success for multi-disciplined master plans for
each product.
Warren also oversees advertising, promotions, media relations, synergy,
broadcast marketing, direct marketing and Internet marketing.
While most of the marketing group is based in Central Florida, Warren
is also responsible for eight international offices and four domestic
field offices.
"Mine is a dream job in that we are marketing a great brand and a great
product and we're marketing something that makes people happy," she
said. "My role allows me to exercise my creative skills as well as my
business and strategic skills."
Against that philosophy, Warren has rung up success after success.
Accomplishments include:
- Leading the Marketing team through Walt Disney World Resort's highly
successful year-long 25th Anniversary, Millennium and 100 Years of
Magic milestone celebrations.
- Developed the overall Brand Charter for Walt Disney World; also
developed marketing support for each of the products included under
the Walt Disney World umbrella.
- At the marketing helm through the most successful attendance/occupancy
periods in Walt Disney World history.
- Brought the Disney version of CRM -- "Creating Relationship Magic"
-- to life at Walt Disney World.
- Named, in 1998, one of the Top Ten Entertainment Marketers of the
Year by Advertising Age magazine.
- Named, in 1999, one of the Top 100 Marketers by Advertising Age
magazine.
- Among key architects in planning the strategic direction of Walt
Disney World.
Warren was promoted to her current position in October 2000. Prior
to that, she was senior vice president for Marketing and Brand Management,
a post she held since 1996.
Prior to Marketing, Warren was senior vice president of Epcot, responsible
for the operations of Epcot and Theme Park Program Development.
Before Epcot, Warren was senior vice president of Walt Disney World
Sales, responsible for the areas of resort/convention sales, wholesale/tour
operator sales, travel agency sales and theme park and event sales,
and for increasing occupancy.
Warren began her Disney employment in 1973 as a college student working
summers and holidays in the parks.
Starting in 1979, she held various positions in Marketing. She was
director of Marketing at Walt Disney World Co. until 1989 when she was
appointed executive assistant to Michael Eisner, chairman and CEO, and
Frank Wells, president and chief operating officer, The Walt Disney
Company.
In August of 1991, she was promoted to vice president of Corporate
Synergy and Special Projects and had responsibility for promoting marketing
synergies among all the Disney business units.
A graduate of Florida State University, Warren received her bachelor
of science degree in marketing in 1976 and her MBA in 1978.
