Linda Warren - Executive Vice President of Marketing and Brand Management, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts

Linda Warren is executive vice president, Marketing and Brand Management, for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.

Her responsibilities include leading the international, domestic and resident market segments, marketing planning and strategy, and brand management -- which defines and articulates the vision and essence of Disney products, whether a theme park, resort hotel or entertainment product, and also provides resource and process management to develop and shape the continued success for multi-disciplined master plans for each product.

Warren also oversees advertising, promotions, media relations, synergy, broadcast marketing, direct marketing and Internet marketing.

While most of the marketing group is based in Central Florida, Warren is also responsible for eight international offices and four domestic field offices.

"Mine is a dream job in that we are marketing a great brand and a great product and we're marketing something that makes people happy," she said. "My role allows me to exercise my creative skills as well as my business and strategic skills."

Against that philosophy, Warren has rung up success after success. Accomplishments include:

  • Leading the Marketing team through Walt Disney World Resort's highly successful year-long 25th Anniversary, Millennium and 100 Years of Magic milestone celebrations.
  • Developed the overall Brand Charter for Walt Disney World; also developed marketing support for each of the products included under the Walt Disney World umbrella.
  • At the marketing helm through the most successful attendance/occupancy periods in Walt Disney World history.
  • Brought the Disney version of CRM -- "Creating Relationship Magic" -- to life at Walt Disney World.
  • Named, in 1998, one of the Top Ten Entertainment Marketers of the Year by Advertising Age magazine.
  • Named, in 1999, one of the Top 100 Marketers by Advertising Age magazine.
  • Among key architects in planning the strategic direction of Walt Disney World.

Warren was promoted to her current position in October 2000. Prior to that, she was senior vice president for Marketing and Brand Management, a post she held since 1996.

Prior to Marketing, Warren was senior vice president of Epcot, responsible for the operations of Epcot and Theme Park Program Development.

Before Epcot, Warren was senior vice president of Walt Disney World Sales, responsible for the areas of resort/convention sales, wholesale/tour operator sales, travel agency sales and theme park and event sales, and for increasing occupancy.

Warren began her Disney employment in 1973 as a college student working summers and holidays in the parks.

Starting in 1979, she held various positions in Marketing. She was director of Marketing at Walt Disney World Co. until 1989 when she was appointed executive assistant to Michael Eisner, chairman and CEO, and Frank Wells, president and chief operating officer, The Walt Disney Company.

In August of 1991, she was promoted to vice president of Corporate Synergy and Special Projects and had responsibility for promoting marketing synergies among all the Disney business units.

A graduate of Florida State University, Warren received her bachelor of science degree in marketing in 1976 and her MBA in 1978.
