"For my daughters 7th Birthday we celebrated at the Magic Kngdom.  Upon arriving we immmediately went to Guest Relations and received an ITS MY BIRTHDAY pin and a Birthday phone call from Goofy! Just seconds after walking out of Guest relations we met up with the Barber shop Quartet where they spotted the Birthday button and the Birthday Princess crown my daughter was wearing.  She was serenaded Happy Birthday quartet style.  Throughout the day nearly every cast member we encountered mentioned her Birthday!!
When we entered Mickeys Toontown Fair we were lucky enough to see all the characters gathering to go to the Judges Tent for autographs.  Characters were running and dancing all over the place ... as we strolled by Minnie's House, Minnie herself and Donald Duck spotted the Birthday Girl and whisked her away.  THe next few minutes were a whirlwind ... Minnie gave our family a personal guided tour through her home and then her and Donald took us through a "secret door"  We had no wait in line as we passed 100's of screaming children waiting to see Minnie and pals to obtain photos and autographs!! We were the first that day to get Character pictures and autographs!
Throughout the remainder of the day Shae was given a lot of special attention and Birthday messages in her autograph book. During the afternoon parade many of the characters spotted her and came to give her hugs and high fives! Even the parade attendent went to the Barber shop and gave her special Mickey shaped confetti for her hair!
When we returned to our resort room for a late afternoon break Shae was surprised with balloons and a picture and Birthday message from her favourite Princess, Cinderella.  (arranged earlier through the front desk just by mentioning it was her Birthday and a fav. character!)
After a Birthday supper and cake we returned back to the Park for the evening parade and Fireworks. I will never forget the look on our daughters face when Prince Charming spotted her in the crowd, blew her a kiss and shouted HAppy Birthday! It was truly a magical night and later she also met many of the Princesses she had been hoping to meet! If given the chance ... take your child to Disney for Birthdays! It is one none of us will ever forget! And  don't ever be shy at mentioning Birthday's ... it will make for an extra special day!" Cris S.

"My wife Allison, my niece Kirby and myself have just returned home to north-east england after having the time of our life in orlando and what will always be the best memory of all was that kirby was seven while we were there and we spent the day in the magic kingdom. we started off at city hall and collected her birthday button, and after that everyone was fantastic from ordinary americans to the brilliant cast members on every ride or show she was made to feel very special. we had been to the magic kingdom the week before and we booked a character meal at the liberty tavern for 4pm. and when we checked in and the cast members saw kirby's button we where made "the bell family" and we all went up on the balcony where kirby got to ring the bell to open the restaurant and our table was special as well covered with streamers etc and then the charactors started to arrive, first chip and dale, then pluto and goffy then miss minnie mouse, kirby's face was a picture and we were presented with a certificate for being the bell family which the charactors all signed as well as signing kirby's autograph book and having photograph's taken, the food was fantastic but kirby did'nt eat much as she was to excited, so thanks to everyone at disney for making it a day none of us will forget, i would recomend everyone to celebrate with disney sometime in your life, we will certainly do it again, hopefully next year[2003] for allison's birthday. Best wishes from Allison, Kirby and Chris rogerson, County Durham, England" (10/02)

"Birthday Fun at WDW--my 9 year old will never forget--long but worth reading by Connie. Just got back from WDW a few weeks ago. We had a blast. For my son's 9th birthday, I planned some wonderful events, but as usual, those unplanned will have an even bigger impact! First, we stayed on property--worth every extra penny. A few days before his b/day, I went to the front desk and spoke to the person in charge. I told him my son's b/day was coming up and asked if there was something they could do to help make it special. We scheduled to have Goofy call the morning of his b/day. On the day of his b/day, Goofy did call and wish him a happy b/day. It was great--just a recording, but I don't think my son knew that. We then went to Animal Kingdom in the morning. Once we arrived, we went directly to Guest Relations and asked for a button that says "Today's my Birthday". Lots of people congratulated him during the day. We then went to Epcot and once again went to Guest Relations, and they presented him with a Mickey Mouse Pen. As we toured the Nations, we got close to the Americas, and he saw a CM dressed up as a Patriot. He, however thought it was George Washington, and ran up to him and asked if he was GW! The CM told him no, that he was part of the Fife & Drum Corp and asked if he would like to march with them! Of course my son, and his younger brother jumped at the chance. It was so wonderful. They walked on either side of the American Flag. When they arrived in front of the Americas Building, the Patriot with the Flag pulled out a scroll and read "Hear ye, hear ye, be it known that G_____ and J___ are now Sons of Patriots. He presented both of the boys with a copy of the Constitution of the United States, as well as a certificate that says they had a Magical Moment in Epcot. I got some of the best photos! That this happened was completely beyond my wildest dreams for his birthday. After leaving Epcot we went back to our cabin at Ft. Wilderness. When we walked in, my son was surprised to see about 6 Mickey Balloons and a Photo Birthday card--signed by Chip and Dale! I had also arranged this with the manager a few days ahead. Didn't cost me a thing--surprisingly--because you pay for everything at WDW! Ha! We then had dinner at the Ft. Wilderness restraunt--who's name I've forgotten--great prices and food--buffet style. Then, we left for the Yacht Club to ride on the Birthday Pontoon Boat (set that up with WDW-PLAY about 3 months in advance--$170.00) We arrieved a few minutes early (8pm), met our personal driver and tour guide, had pictures taken and set off to tour the lagoon. Only our family of 5 was on the boat. The boat was covered with a Happy B/day Banner, Streamers and Balloons. On board was a b/day cake--it must have been 18" round. I don't think we had a cake this big at our wedding! It was 4 layers covered with frosting, drizzeled with carmel and chocolate and surounding the top outside edge were cherries. There were snacks on board as well as soft drinks of our choice and water. As we cruised past the boardwalk, people on the boardwalk began singing Happy B/day to us! We cruised past MGM and then headed over toward Epcot to watch Illuminations. We pulled under the bridge between France and England and docked the boat. We sang Happy B/day to my son, cut the cake and ooed and ahaed as the fireworks from Illuminations went off right before our eyes. You could feal the heat! There were a few other boats that pulled up alongside of us, but they had lots of people on them--most strangers to each other. We had such a great time. We then sailed back to the Yacht Club, took more pictures, and of course brought the cake and balloons home. Getting the balloons into the trunk of the car was another laughable moment. Needless to say, we had cake for breakfast lunch and dinner the next day and 1/2 and had to throw some of it out before we left! I would do it again--no doubt. No crowds to deal with, and so relaxing! My son truly had a Magical Moment."

"We had 8.10am PS's for The Crystal Palace on my birthday. I was celebrating being 29 (again). We got the first bus from DxL at about 7.40 and were at the Park in plenty of time. We were seated after waiting on the porch for about 10 mins and went to fill our plates. The buffet was really nice. Loads of choice and really yummy. We had just got back to our seats when Tigger came round. I was sitting facing where the characters would be, with Stephen having them behind him. Well, Tigger walked up behind Stephen and looked down at him. (At this point, I should say that Stephen does not have as much hair as he used to, he is a little bald on top). Tigger looked at Stephen's head, then at his napkin on the table and then at his head again. <g> You can guess what's coming, can't you? Yup, Tigger picked up the napkin and proceeded to polish Stephen's head with it. Then he tried to tuck it into the neck of his t-shirt and discovered that Stephen is tickle-ish, so he tickled him until he got out of his seat in order to escape. Tigger then sat down in Stephen's seat, picked up his knife and fork, and sat there grinning at me. I very nearly wet myself, I was laughing so much!!

After Stephen had regained his seat, we carried on with our breakfast. I saw one of the servers come out of the kitchen with a cake with a candle in it, which I assumed was for a little boy who was also having a birthday. Oh no! it was for me and I got sang to and got presented with a birthday card signed by Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eyeore. I got all shy and blushed, but I did enjoy it. It was quite magical. The card has taken pride of place in my holiday scrapbook.

After breakfast we headed over to Buzz Lightyear. We rode it about 4 or 5 times until the queues started to build up. We had a policy of not standing in a queue for more than 20 mins, we'd just walk past to find something without a queue, and go back later. We took the skyway over to Fantasyland and just timed it nicely for a cruise on the Liberty Belle riverboat. After that we took a raft over to Tom Sawyer island and explored at our leisure. I had fun trying to take photos of BTMR whilst standing on the wobbly bridge<G>. The MK was getting a little busier so we headed over to MGM. I plucked up all my courage and went on ToT and loved it so much we had to ride it again. We still didn't get the perfect photo, so I'll just have to try again next year. We had a nice wander around MGM and saw Indy and went on Star tours, The great movie ride and The backlot tour. We missed the parade, as there was virtually no queue for ToT at that time, which is why we went on it twice. It was coming up to 5.00 so we headed for The Brown Derby for our PS. We had a really nice meal there. Now the original plan was to do the Fantasmic dining package, but then we found out it was E-night! So after our meal we went back to DxL to get changed before heading to the MK. When we got to our room, there was a vase of flowers that Stephen had arranged for. What a poppet! Even the vase had Mickey on it, and the flowers were gorgeous. We got back to MK at about 8.30, changed our tickets for wristbands and made our way to Buzz. It was really quiet in the park. One of the CM's told us that there was only 800 people there. It was as if Disney had opened the park just for me on my birthday. We rode Buzz for about an hour without having to get off. I really really like that ride<G>. Stephen was looking a bit dizzy at this point, (unless he was just cheesed that I was scoring higher than him<g>) so we ran over to Splash and went round and round and round. It was wonderful. I was singing zippety doo dah for days afterwards. We just had time for one trip into the haunted mansion and one on BTMR, before heading back to bed.

I had a great birthday, and the next day when we went back to our room in the afternoon, housekeeping had arranged my flowers and birthday cards in the window with the blind half up, so everyone could admire them. On the table was a small gift and a note saying happy birthday. I can't imagine that happening anywhere else. It was just so thoughtful." Carole

"Last week we celebrated my son's fifth birthday at Disney World. Everyone was so wonderful, the poor child looks for a singing character now every time he hears hands clapping. Make prioirity seatings for the resturants and tell them you are celebrating a birthday, most of the character meals will bring a cake if they are informed ahead of time. Make sure you do a meal with Pooh at Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom. The first person at each meals seatings are allowed to be chef of the day. We had an 8 am breakfast which I arranged ahead of time for him to be chef of the day. We were the first people allowed in the resturaunt that morning and all the characters focused on him. He went to the front of the Palace and the chef came out and helped him and the characters decorate a Mickey Mouse pancake with whipped cream, berries and candies. He has told everyone we have seen that he made breakfast for everyone with Pooh and Tigger. All you have to do is ask and all the cast members make all occassions special. Make sure you stop by City Hall on your birthday to get your birthday button so everyone will know you're celebrating." Karen Rice , Shelbyville, Ky USA

"I was celebrating my 22nd birthday at Epcot and every time I entered a different country, they gave me a "drink on the house"...needless to say by the time I got to Mexico and was given a Margarita I was tipsy with saki from Japan, beer from Ireland, wine from France and so much more. Anyways, in Mexico my best friend had informed the waiter that it was my birthday while I was in the bathroom and they brought me a cake and a Mexican hat and sang "Happy Birthday" to me and took a picture of me with the waiter and as I was leaving they gave me a souvenir picture that they had taken.

Thanks, I hope you can share this with others, maybe even take the idea up for a birthday." Laura (chix@gate.net)
