Busch Gardens is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment
for all our guests. A Guest Accessibility Guide is available at
Guest Relations located near the park entrance next to the main
turnstiles. It is intended to supplement the Busch Gardens park
map, which contains additional park information and an entertainment
schedule.
Parking
Parking for guests with disabilities is located in the parking
lot near the Main Entrance on a first-come first-served basis for
guests with an authorized government-parking permit. Disabled parking
signs designate this parking area and some spaces are van-accessible.
Guest Relations
Guest Relations provides a variety of services including general
information, ticket information; show schedules and information
about services for guests with disabilities. Assisted listening
devices, that amplify the volume of show performances for guest
who have difficulty hearing, are also available at Guest Relations
upon request.
Wheelchair Rental
You are welcome to bring your own wheelchairs or electric carts
in to the park or rent ours from Jeepers Creepers (stroller and
wheelchair rental) located in the Moroccan Village area just after
you enter the main turnstiles. Jeepers Creepers is the fourth gift
shop on the right.
· A parent or legal guardian must accompany renters under
the age of eighteen.
· A driver’s license is required to rent electric
carts.
· Electric carts are rented on a first-come, first-serve
basis. Reservations are not accepted.
· Please keep your receipt as they may be requested in order
to access ride exit areas.
Physically Challenged Guests
At Busch Gardens, safety is the only consideration that takes
precedence over fun. Some of our rides, by their nature, create
forces and speeds that may not be acceptable to some of our guests,
and may cause injury to some riders with pre-existing conditions.
Riders must be in good health to experience these attractions. Those
who have any impairment or condition (such as recent heart surgery,
pregnancy, have high blood pressure, a heart condition, neck, back
problems) that would prevent normal seating or use of the safety
restraints should not board the following rides:
· Montu
· Scorpion
· Kumba
· Gwazi
· Python
· Sandstorm
· Phoenix
· Crazy Camel
· Ubang-Banga Bumper Cars
· Rhino Rally
· Congo River Rapids
· Stanley Falls Log Flume
· Tanganyika Tidal Wave
Guests who are physically challenged should be able to continuously
grasp lap bars and/or railings, maintain themselves independently
in an upright position, and be able to absorb sudden and dramatic
movements on the attractions listed above. During the evacuation
of any ride, ambulatory guests may be removed before those guests
using wheelchairs. Guests accept any additional risk associated
with an emergency evacuation.
Guests with casts or limb braces will be restricted from riding
certain rides where the cast or brace may present a hazard to the
guest or others. Please consult with our Guest Relations staff for
more in formation or if in doubt about your ability to safely experience
a ride.
Height Requirements
Height requirements are posted at each attraction. All guests,
including those in wheelchairs, must meet the height requirements
as posted to experience that attraction.
Accessibility Guidelines
· Guests using wheelchairs may access most of our rides
through the exit areas. The universal disability sign identifies
all other wheelchair entrances. Please use the regular entrance
for the Train Ride.
· The Tidal Wave entrance for guests with disabilities is
the first entrance to the left of the Tidal Wave bridge.
The following guidelines apply when using exits to enter attractions:
· Disabled guests must ride in order for their group to
board from the exit.
· A maximum of four people (including the disabled guest)
may enter through the exit and ride with little or no waiting. Two
successive rides are permitted. If there are more than four in any
one party, two guests may remain at the loading platform while the
rest of the party goes through the line.
· Busch Gardens' employees can offer assistance steadying
a guest transferring to or from a wheelchair. They may not lift
or assist in lifting anyone using a wheelchair. Guests using a wheelchair
must be able to board a ride themselves or with the help from other
members of their party.
· There is a designated wheelchair area on the rear of the
Train Ride.
· All theaters have designated wheelchair seating available
on a first come, first serve basis. The wheelchair entrance at the
Moroccan Palace is on the east (left) side of the theater. All other
theaters are accessible by ramps.
· Because of the nature or dynamics of certain rides and
the potential for injury, unsecured cameras of any size, video cameras,
purses, fanny packs and cell phones are not permitted on all roller
coasters.
Dining
Table service is provided at the Crown Colony House restaurant.
All other restaurants feature a counter or window that provides
designated wheelchair access to tables. Attendants at any restaurant
will be happy to assist with placing orders for guests using wheelchairs.
Gift Shops
All gift shops are wheelchair accessible. Please ask any staff
member for assistance.
Restrooms
Restrooms in the park are accessible to wheelchairs and are clearly
marked with the wheelchair symbol throughout the park. Companion
restrooms are located in Egypt (near the Montu roller coaster),
Nairobi (at Kenya Kanteen), Timbuktu (in Main First Aid), Congo
(near the Bumper Cars), and in the Land of the Dragons (near the
Snack Dragon refreshment stand).
Telephones & TDD's
A Text Telephone Device (TTD) is located at the Lost and Found
office (across from Guest Relations) and at Main First Aid in the
Timbuktu area of the park. Public telephones accessible to guests
using wheelchairs are provided throughout the park. Most public
telephones are equipped with a volume control.
Sign Language Interpretation
If you are reading this in preparation for your visit, interpretation
can be provided at live shows with a minimum of one week's notice.
Call (813) 987-5465 (during park hours) for reservations. Guests
requesting this complimentary service will be contacted prior to
their visit and a specified show schedule will be confirmed.
Service Animals
Service animals are welcome at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. A Service
Animal guide is available at Guest Relations to assist you.
First Aid
Main First Aid is located on the right (west) side of the Festhaus
restaurant near the Scorpion roller coaster. Skyride First Aid is
located in the Skyride building directly to the left of the entrance
to the Edge of Africa area. Registered nurses and emergency medical
technicians staff our First Aid centers during park hours.
Staff members throughout the park can call for medical assistance
to come to you upon request.
