'Keeper For A Day' is a new programme at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay
that gives guests the chance to work alongside the park's zoological
team assisting in the care of exotic and endangered animals. The
six and a half hour programme pairs participants with a zoological
educator for a one on one experience offering a wide range of hands
on training sessions and animal care for large and small mammals,
birds and reptiles.
The day starts with participants getting up close to African wildlife
as they venture onto the park's Serengeti Plain to feed giraffe,
eland, bongo, antelope, zebra and ankole cattle. The day continues
as would-be keepers work with staff to feed and care for ostriches,
crowned cranes and other exotic birds on the Serengeti Plain.
Keeper For A Day concludes at the Nairobi Field Station where guests
receive a behind the scenes tour of the facility and help zookeepers
feed and care for the parks colourful Caribbean and Chilean flamingos
as well as several of Busch Gardens' newborn animals.
