Extra Magic Hours is what used to be known as Early Entry.
Each day, one park opens 1 hour earlier or 3 hours late for Disney
Resort guests.
So if the Magic Kingdom is scheduled to open at 9am on a Sunday,
it will be open to resort guests from 8am.
Check the monthly park hour pages for schedules.
Guests who can take advantage of the early opening must be staying
in one of the onsite Disney-owned hotels, Swan, Dolphin or the Hilton
at Lake Buena Vista.

"The EMH of 3 hours every night began while i was in WDW on 03/01/2005
even though it was just after xmas the crowd on the first night
i went to MGM were non existent managed to do TOT 3 times,
RRC 3 times GMR 1 and Muppetvision and Star Tours twice. Very impressed
and at least you don't have to get up early to enjoy less crowds."

Early Entry was a perk enjoyed by Disney Resort guests for years,
until September 2001, when it was suddenly replaced by the 'Character
Caravan'. Disney said it was responding to guests, who had apparently
said they wanted to see more characters, and early entry wasn't
that popular. Guests were up in arms about the changes, and it looks
like Disney have finally listened properly and reinstated this perk.
Expect the park which opens early to be busier on that day.
