Magic Kingdom E-Ride Nights (formerly E-Ticket Express) is a special
program that takes place on selected nights at The Magic Kingdom.
The park stays open for three hours after normsl closing, &
only the guests who have bought E-Tickets are allowed to stay, &
are then able to ride all of the E-Ticket attractions. Only about
5000 E-Tickets are available & therefore waiting times for rides
are minimal. (Back in the 1970s Magic Kingdom guests bought ticket
books and they contained A, B, C, D, and E tickets. The E-Tickets
were the best attractions)
"E-Tickets" cost $8.00 for children (ages 3-9) and $12.00 for
adults (ages 10+) and can only be purchased by Disney
Resort Guests who have a Length of Stay Pass, Seasonal Pass,
Premium Annual Pass, Park Hopper Pass, Annual Pass, or Park Hopper
Plus Pass. Note-you need a valid park pass to gain entry to the
Magic Kingdom, the E-Ticket doesn't gain you entry to the park.
You can purchase your E-Ticket at your resort's front desk, or at
the Magic Kingdom ticket window. To activate the pass all you have
to do is turn in your ticket anytime after 4pm at one of these
three locations at The Magic Kingdom -
Tomorrowland Arcade (Tomorrowland)
City Hall (Main Street, U.S.A.)
Splash Down Photos (Frontierland)
Once you have turned in your ticket you will receive a wristband,
which must be worn, otherwise you will not be allowed on any of
the attractions after the park closes to guests.
The following attractions are the only ones open during E-Ride
Nights-
Astro Orbiter
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
Country Bear Jamboree
Space Mountain
Splash Mountain
Haunted Mansion
Tomorrowland Transit Authority
The following food, beverage &
merchandise locations are usually open on E-Ride nights-
Casey's Corner, Main Street Bake Shop, Plaza Ice Cream Parlor,
Pecos Bill's and The Lunching Pad. Emporium, Splashdown Photo, and
Merchants of Venus.
Bus transportation runs on E-Ride Nights, but the buses may be
farther apart. Boat transportation does not operate.

"E-Ride nights are definently worth the money. Now, I was
skeptical at first. (when people said that it seemed like you had
the park to yourself) but it really did feel like it. Its a magical
experiance, but unfortuanantly the 3 hrs seems like 5 minutes."
"E-ride nights are wicked awesome! Especially during the summer
months and other peak times, it's definately worth the extra money!
MK was like made to be seen during the dark, the views from Big
Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain and the Transit Authority are
unbelievable!! It was an awesome experience, I did it twice on my
last stay because I loved it so much!!! Do it! Do it! Do it!"
"I have used it each of my last 3 visits there. my children
went for the first time at ages 7 and 11.I went on the weekday night
from 9-12 rather than the weekend one which is later in the evening
to early morn. My kids insist on it and we agree!"
"Is there anything in the world better than e-ride nights?
NO! I live for them during our trips. Sometimes it has literally
felt like having the park to yourself. It's so cool to be on Splash
Mountain & just wave yourself on through again. You feel like royalty!"
"It was great!
There was no body in the park , We hardly even passed anyone. We
got to stay on Big Thunder Mt. 3 times without even getting out
of the ride."
"We went in
January of 1999 and got e-ride tickets one night and it was WONDERFUL.
My husband and daughter got on a roller coaster about 10 times..no
wait at all. We're hoping there will be one in January 2003 when
we go."
"My group
was sitting in the hot tub of our resort, when some guys told us
about it. It was great! It feels like you have the entire park just
to yourself! Its deffintly worth the extra 12 bucks." (10/02)
"One E Night,
I went on Space Mountain six times in one hour. It was totally worth
it." (8/02)
"We experience
our first E-Ride night last November, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
MK was very crowded before the park closed, with long waits for
the rides. It was well worth the extra cost because there was absolutely
no wait for the rides during the later E-ride hours. The Haunted
House is really fun late at night with most of the park closed.
That was the third Thanksgiving week we stayed on property and the
first time we knew of an E-Ride night during our stay. We wouldn't
h ave known then if the bus driver, only one of three "friendly"
drivers during our 2001 vacation, hadn't told us in transit to MK.
We hope Disney offers at least one E-ride night while we are there
this Thanksgiving." (6/02)
"We went in
April 2002. What a great time we had! We went on Space Mountain
6 or 7 times in a row. We went on every ride that was open a number
of times. The park was empty, it was so beautiful. All of the characters
were there to take pictures, autographs, etc. Well worth the extra
money!" (6/02)
"Ok, E-Ride
is absolutly the best. Despite the fact of being all alone at Magic
Kingdom on my 17th birthday(my sister and nephew had gone back sick)
I got to spend the whole evening riding my favorite rides, not waiting
in any lines, as many times as I wanted! The park was basically
mine."
"On my last
trip to Disney in March 2000, my sister and I purchased E-ride nights
tickets. My sister's friend had come to Florida with us, but when
invited to do E-ride nights she declined. Big mistake! This was
the best idea Disney has ever offered to their guests. My sister
and I rode Buzz Lightyear 5 times in a row without getting off!
Thunder Mountain and Haunted Mansion was just the same, no wait
and fun times! Cannot wait to do it again in May 2002!"
"We always
make it a point to take advantage of the e-ride nights. I feel that
it is the best bargain for your money that Disney offers. We have
never had to wait any longer than 5 minutes in line plus it is much
cooler so our children are not grumpy from the heat. I tell everyone
that is going to make sure they do an e-ride night. We think that
they are great!"
"In May of
we experienced E-Ride at the Magic Kingdom. Wow, what a difference!
We were able to ride all the cool rides without waiting in line
at all. My son wanted to be on the Haunted Mansion ride at midnite
- no problem, we just rode it 5 time in a row!! No waiting, no line
- you can't beat it!! We are going back late May 2002 and are planning
on doing it all again!!"
"We went for
Memorial Day weekend of 2000. I thought the E-Ride Night was wonderful.
It was like having the whole park to yourselves. No lines, no crowds
definitly worth it to experience Disney that way. We altered our
whole schedule just to make it and it was worth it."
"We first
experienced E-Ride Nights in '98. It was by far the best $40 bucks
I have ever spent at WDW. There were no lines, and there characters
everywhere!!When we got off Space Mountain for the fourth time Mickey
and Goofy were standing at the exit in space suits!!! It was so
cool the kids went crazy and got to spend time with the characters
because there were no ther people around. It is well worth the money."
"We used e-ride
nights when we came to disneyworld for christmas and New year 1999/2000.
It was so good we went twice in the one trip and hardly needed to
go to Magic Kingdom during the day since we had ridden the really
good rides plenty of times with no wait. This year when we went
back the first thing we found out about was e-ride nights because
we liked them so much and wanted to go on again."
"The wife
and I have been taking advantage of this since we went down for
the 25 anniversary. We think it is the best thing since sliced bread.
We go to WDW at least twice a year and would never pass up a chance
to do E-ride night. In January of 98, we took our daughter and her
husband with us. They are now hooked on e-ride night. When we book
our trips now we try to find out when E-ride night is so we don't
book the HoopDeDoo on that night."
"GET AN E-RIDE
TICKET!! If you want to really enjoy the major attractions at Magic
Kingdom purchase an E-Ride ticket. We visited Disneyworld during
spring break 2000 when the crowds were huge. We visited Magic Kingdom
during the day to watch all the shows and ride the "less popular"
rides. We returned to the park @ 8:30 pm, just in time to watch
the fireworks show and the thousands of people leaving the park.
At 9:00pm we began riding the "more popular" attractions. We rode
space mountain 4 times in approximately 40 minutes. Most of the
time was spent walking in and out the the ride. On our 3rd and 4th
trips through, we walked directly to the loading area non-stop.
Did I mention we also rode splash mountain 4 times non-stop! GET
AN E-RIDE TICKET!!" BILLYBBEN1@AOL.COM
"I experienced
E-ride night in Aug. of 98. When I returned with my sister in Aug
99, I insisted on going again. She was so suprised at the ease and
speed of the lines. This year we are returning in June. We are hoping
that there are two nights the week that we are there. We grew up
going to Disney World and look forward to returning every year.
Now we have a new family tradition."
"My son and
I were there in Mar.'99 and experienced e-rides. It was by far the
best $20.00 I've ever spent at Disney. We were able to ride Splash
Mountain 4 times without getting off. Space Mountain was just as
easy. We had a blast and tell everyone that's going to make sure
they make the investment.. I know we will."
"The E-ticket
night was the highlight of our first ever WDW trip for my husband
and me. (November 1997.) We left our two young daughters at the
Neverland Club and headed for the Magic Kingdom. It was a blast!
We were able to ride everything with no lines, and many rides that
we really enjoyed like Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain
we simply stayed on for another go. The place was so empty that
we were the only ones in the Pirates of the Caribbean, which made
it really spooky with the other empty boats gently bumping into
ours. I kept looking over my shoulder! On Splash Mountain we were
the only people in our log, which made a great picture for a souvenir.
It was so quiet you could hear the howling from the Haunted Mansion
in Adventureland. The best part (besides no lines of course) was
riding attractions together without swapping off the kids or scaring
them half to death on rides that were too overwhelming for them.
We are planning another trip this February, and my husband (who
is not as Disney crazy as I am) already asked if we could plan another
E-night together. It's worth every penny, even with the baby-sitting
added in!"
"My friend
and I went to the e-ride night in late July, 99. We absolutely loved
it. We're both 16 and there was no way we were going to sleep before
4 am anyway. It gave us an opportunity to get out and enjoy as much
as possible in the Magic Kingdom during the short time we were there.
I'm now back in Wisconsin anticipating our next visit."
"Me and my family
(husband 16 year old son & 18 year old daughter) visited Disney
at the end of September 1999. We did do the E-Ride night only because
the heat of the day was so unbearable that I couldn't take another
day walking around sweating. I really don't think it is worth it.
The park wasn't that crowded, but the parks weren't that crowded
anyway at that time of year. We only had time to go on the rides
that were opened once. I think you miss out on a lot of stuff that
you can see during the day, like Toontown, which we didn't go back
to see, and just the park in general. It's not the same at night.
I wouldn't spend the extra $42.00 again, it wasn't worth it."
"My hubby and
I were in DisneyWorld in '97 for the 25th Anniversary and we were
lucky to get the chance to experience E- ride night. It was awesome!!
We had the park practically to ourselves and there was absolutely
NO wait for rides! In fact, we got to ride some over and over because
no one was in line!! It was really neat to see the MK in the dark....especially
the Haunted Mansion. When you see it in the daylight, it just doesn't
compare to the nighttime!! And with the park deserted, it made it
seem really scary!!"
"We went to the
e-ride night not expecting much. We were so surprised! Absolutlely
NO waiting on any of the rides. Alien encounter is soooo much scarier
at night. Thunder mountain was also a good one to go on in the dark.
The haunted house was open the night we went and that too was scarier
at night. We are going to WDW again in December and can't wait for
our "private time in the park!" Sue
"The e-ride night
we went on was September 7 and was it the best ten bucks I've ever
spent. I consider e-ride night at the Magic Kingdom "neverneverland"
because you'll never will experience something like that unless
you go on another e-ride night. Can you imagine having the whole
entire park to yourself? Well, that's e-ride night. We were fortunate
that none of the rides were closed and I had the chance of going
on Space Mountain four times in a row in half an hour. You can go
on the most popular rides with little or no waiting at all. And
you can share some time with your favorite Disney character without
being bothered by a bunch of pesky kids. So, if you want to visit
the Magic Kingdom without the crowds then consider going on e-ride
night." Sheldon
"We were at Disney
the first week in September 1998 and went to eride at Magic Kingdom.
It was great! We had no wait hardly at all,if any there were usually
only a few in front of us. We had a great time and it was the best
part of our vacation! It was crowd free and alot of fun."
