Another Disney World employee dies

ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 18 (UPI) -- A Walt Disney World cast member has died after being injured rehearsing for the "Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular" show at Hollywood Studios in Florida.

Anislav Varbanov, 30, has become the third Disney worker to die during a mishap at the Orlando amusement park system this summer.

A monorail driver was killed July 5 when another train backed into his. Another actor died Aug. 10 of complications after falling during an interactive show, "Captain Jack's Pirate Tutorial," at the Magic Kingdom.

The Orlando Sentinel reported Varbanov sustained a head injury while executing a tumbling roll Monday night.

Disney employees called 911 and Varbanov was transported to Florida Hospital Celebration Health where he was pronounced dead, the newspaper said.

The 30-minute "Indiana Jones" show demonstrates the types of stunts used in the classic adventure movie "Raiders of the Lost Ark." The stunt program has been performed at the theme park since 1989. Tuesday's scheduled performances of the show reportedly were canceled because of Monday night's incident.

"We lost a valued cast member, and our thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family as we mourn his passing," the Sentinel quoted Disney spokeswoman Zoraya Suarez as saying in a prepared statement.
