Day 4 (Wednesday)
Woke up a little bit later today and after a breakfast at Olivia’s
and head back to the room to make PRs for 50’s Prime Time
Café at 6:00. MGM was considerably less crowded today. Didn’t
wait to long for Rockin’ Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror.
Over to Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and The Great Movie Ride.
See the characters for a little while. Stop and share a pretzel
in New York and head over to Star Tours. After Star Tours, we search
out where we are going to have lunch. First we check out the commissary
(nope hubby doesn’t like it here) so then we go back over
near Star Tours and hit the Backlot Express. Head back towards the
Backlot Tour. CMs thought they were doing a nice thing in here by
putting us on the front of the tram by the narrator. However, it
had just down poured while we were in the special effects section
and water had been dripping down on our backs from the top of the
awning. Not to mention the fact that our backs must have been right
near the engine block because we were about ready for a heat stroke.
To make a long story short, don’t sit ALL the way in the front
next to the narrator. Across from him is fine. I don’t know
if it’s just me or what but the backlot tour was significantly
shorter than it was last time. All we really saw was the boneyard
and that was just about it. They are building a new ride that hits
where the tour used to go so it seems as though they cut a big portion
out of it. After the Backlot tour, we take another spin on the Rockin’
Roller Coaster and then over to the Indiana Jones show and 50’s
Prime Time Café. Along with everyone else that just came
out of the show. So, here we are standing in line with all of these
people we are watching them all walk away as they are told that
there is no seating available. Finally we get up to the front and
give our names and wait about 5 minutes and we are seated. “Mom”
asks all about our wedding and lets us know that she really disapproves
of us running away and getting married and not inviting us. Our
“cousins” are asking us a ton of questions about our
wedding and how our Disneymoon is going etc. After dinner is over,
“Mom” comes over with a cupcake and tells us that since
we didn’t invite her to the wedding, now we have to do the
cake thing here for everyone to see. So, she takes pictures and
has everyone in the area stand up and watch us do the bride and
groom thing again. It was hysterical. After dinner was over, we
made our way up the hill to Fantasmic. This was our first time seeing
this and it was awesome. I read a lot of people in Trip Reports
talking about this but I never got the full effect until I saw it
done. It is NOT TO BE MISSED!!! Back home to the room and watch
a little TV and get to bed.
About today: Star Tours needs to be updated. If my DH feeds me
any more spoonfuls of icing, I’m going to put cake up his
nose. Fantasmic is something that cannot be described.
