"We absolutely loved this resort! The rooms were just refurbished and the concierge servic/lounge was wonderful! This is the perfect resort due to it's location and exciting feel.  It is perfect for a family with children.  The pools are great and there is a beach as well as nightly electric water parade at the resort.  An awesome view from the beach of the castle!  Will go nowhere else but the Polynesian next trip to Disney World! Ohana's was delicious and plentiful!!!!!Mickey waffles were loved by my husband and child." (12/05)

"Our family of 5, for the first time, stayed a week at the Polynesian in the Hawaii building.  We have stayed at the Polynesian before but not concierge.  Concierge is the way to go!! The lounge was very crowded during breakfast, but that was to be expected---after all it is Disney World during school vacation. There were some rude people, but overall our experience was fabulous!!The food was good and plentiful.  The evening desserts were terrific & the view from the lounge (or beach for that matter)for evening fireworks was outstanding! The kids enjoyed the electric parade at night from the beach.
Our room was clean & comfortable.  Housekeeping service was terrific (Our housekeeper has been there over 20 years!!) We were on the first floor-garden view.  It was excellent for walking out the door and heading to one of the pools.  The only drawback was the duck poop that was all over the patio, but housekeeping cleaned it every morning.
We enjoyed the character breakfast at Ohana--but it was quite pricey!!!  The best part was the delicious pineapple bread--yummy! and the service was outstanding!!
Captain Cooks is great for grabbing a quick bite--chicken fingers,etc...pricey, but to be expected it's Disney World!
Great experience for out entire family--kids ages 15, 12, and 7.  We love the Polynesian!!! The concierge service is the BEST." Maureen Jannetta (4/05)

"My family of 4 stayed in a great room in the Tokelau House 2/2-2/8/2003. It was beautiful and we recieved turn down service by requesting it from housekeeping upon arrival, just as was recommended by this website. I found the decor' to be very polynesian, for lack of a better word, and not at all dated as some reviews had complained. I don't have a single complaint about our stay. We used the WDW codes provided by Mousesavers and only paid $179/night to stay here and it was worth every penny, and more. The grounds are just breathtaking with the waves rolling up onto the beach, especially at night with the torches lit and the music from the outdoor speakers hidden along the walkways. Even with the kids we found the resort to be enchantingly romantic. My husband and I would sit on the big bench swing on the beach and watch the kids play in the sand. I loved the fact that we all felt swept up into the Disney magic even while we were heading back to our room. The arcade was a big hit with my 5 year old son and my 4 year old daughter just loved all the flowers on the grounds. As far as the pool is concerned, it is just beautiful and heated perfectly. The biggest plus, however, would have to be the monorail. Nothing could beat just hopping onto the monorail with my two kids when we were off to the Magic Kingdon or Epcot. Regarding the time of year, I have to say February was very nice. Since we come from the Northeast the cool temperatures didn't irritate us at all, we were grateful to have missed a blizzard at home. Truthfully, I would have liked it if it were warm enough to swim more than 2 days but I wouldn't trade the lack of crowds for warmth. We got on EVERY ride with a bare minimum wait and even did ALL of the Animal Kingdom without a headache." (7/03) Lu

" Accommodations were excellent. We were allowed to check in early because the room was available. We were given the option of a balcony or not. Everything was done to make our stay enjoyable. We were in the Fiji longhouse on first visit, the adjacent building the second visit as Fiji was being renovated and this year we are booked in Samoa. We have dined at Kona Cafe which was excellent. We have had breakfast at O'hana and this was great. Service is fantastic. Of course there is always Captain Cooks fast service. Opinion------ great family place to stay. Would not think of staying elsewhere. We have stayed at Caribbean Beach. This is too spread out (very good, don't get me wrong). Have stayed at Dixie Landings (much too spread out). Have stayed at Wilderness. Would consider going back there again but prefer Polynesian of all." (7/03) Roberta Audette

"We had a great room. We had a pool view. The room was very nice, clean. Plenty of towels, pillowsect. Our housekeeper made towel animals and left them on our beds every day. We loved kona cafe located in the main building excelent foodand coffee. Overall we loved this resort. We recomend it highly. Kona cafe very good food. Good coffee, Very nice place to eat and relax. Overall the resort is excelent place for a family to stay." (9/02) debra schneider

"I LOVED our hotel. It was very clean. Great for teenagers(myself), children, adults, any age. Our room was in Rapa Nui very convienient to the TTC. I had a lot of fun feeding the ducks our left over breakfast. We stayed on the 3rd floor(rm # 3117). I wish they had an indoor pool. The only thing I didn't like was that Rapa Nui was far from the Grand Ceremonial House, the polynesian monorial station was far from Rapa Nui.So to solve that problem we just took the monorail from the T TC to epcot or magic kingdom. And when you wanted to go somewhere like to the pool you had to walk. From Rapa Nui the quiet pool was less than 5min. away. The volcano was about 5-10 minutes away. I loved the slide. My dad went on it about 3 times. I went on it about 15 and my sister 13. It is very good. Usually in the morning, my dad walked to the little cafe in the grand ceremonial house. Across from the gift shop on the 2nd floor. I usually got a sticky bun(yum yum yum). We went to the ohanas on sat. night. It was goooooood. They put all the food on a lazy susan and then the waiter took meat of a skewer. First you have dumplings, rice, salad, chicken wings in little bowls on the lazy susan. Then the waiter comes with steak(soo good) and turkey(good). Then he comes with pork(good) and shrimp(spicy but good). After that you get pineapple and you dip it in caramel. (SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good). Then you get dessert but we were too full for that. Thoughts: Contemporary- Too Plain; Grand Floridian- Too Fancy and stiff; Polynesian- Perfect Theme for all ages." " I am so speechless when it comes to the Polynesian. It was beyond Magical. My husband and I had our wedding there at sunset-pointe which is right on the beach with the castle as your back drop. AMAZING..... Everyone was so nice and by being there we were so relaxed and so excited at the same time. We are going back to WDW to celebrate our 1 year anniv and there is no question where we will be staying. POLYNESIAN..... Captain Jack's is awesome. Open 24 hours and you can always find something there that you might be craving. Even at 2am :O) And don't forget about the Luau. That is a must even if you are planning on staying at the Polynesian. Magical is the only way that I can describe the Polynesian." (6/02) Amy Rhoads

"Everyone was so friendly, the rooms were clean and homey but yet the view made you excited about your stay. The gardens were breathtaking as you walked the paths. I had rooms x4years on the Lagoon facing the castle and space mountain and 1year time facing the gardens. I loved the idea of Capt. Jacks open 24 hours when you come in the late night you could still get a snack and drink. The swimming pool is fantastic and being able to see the water parade and the fireworks over the c astle was fabulous. The monorail so close along with the ticket center was a great PLUS.I plan to stay there again and again." Tomalee

"The Hotel was impeccable. It is conviently loacted next to the transportation center which puts this already exceptional hotel over the top! Every thing was clean and fresh every day without fail. We would have a hard time staying somewhere else. Ohana's is fantastic but you must go thier when your starving to get the full affect. They kept the kids entertained through out the meal to keep everyone happy! We ate there after a long flight in. It was the perfect start to our vacation. The staff was extremely courtous and helpfull. A child had spill a grape drink on my white sweater and there staff cleaned up like new. I was very greatful." M. Pye

"This was our 3rd visit to WDW, but the first visit to the Polynesian. We loved it! It is so relaxing and makes you feel you are someplace tropical instead of Disney. It was very relaxing to come back to the hotel at night after a full day of Disney. We all said we would love to stay longer next time. Our room was great and did not show the "wear and tear" the others seem to write about. We stayed in a non smoking building. It was wonderful in the evenings to walk through the com p lex and smell the fragrant gardenias that were everywhere. As for the proximity of the hotel to the parks,it was so easy to get to get anywhere even to Downtown Disney. That fact alone really made such a huge difference to us because we didn't have to spend as much time waiting on buses or walking for miles to get anywhere. The only negative I could comment on would be the ability to hear the people in the room next door, as well as when you were walking down the hall you could hear quite a bi t of noise coming from behind closed doors. It made us wonder why the Polynesian hadn't corrected that problem or even had it to begin with. Other than that we had a great time there." (4/02) Nancy Averill

"Well i just have to say that our family went to Disney World pretty much every other year. In total we went to Disney World 6 times. And every single time we came, we stayed at the Polynesian resort. Well obviously we liked it or we wouldnt of came back. It's just gorgeous there. The resort puts u into a tranquil, relaxing environment. And it seems hard to believe since this is Disney World and every minute your running to the next attraction, waiting in line. But when you come b ack to the Poly all that running around just seems to disapear. Just walking to your room after a long day and you hear the hawaiian music playing in the background and the torches lit. It's beatiful. Recently we have been getting concierge and that is great. Knowing that you can just go down stairs and get a snack or have a quick breakfast is unbeatable. The room where we stay at is absolutely gorgeous. We have the lagoon view and every night we would watch "Fantasy In the Sky" over the Magic Kingdom on our patio. The dining and service is GREAT! I highly recommend the character breakfast. The kids love it. They get to meet there favorite Disney characters while eating there mickey shaped waffles. I highly recommend this resort. It can be for newlyweds/familes/or couples." "I found the best place to stay on site is the Polynesian. It is in walking distance of the TTC and it is on the monorail. At night you can sit on the beach and watch the fireworks and the water parade."

"We stayed Poly concierce lagoon view for our honeymoon. I would do it again in a heart beat and staying there once really makes it hard to stay at any other resort (deluxe or not). I have fond memories of staying there in '86 and that is why we picked it there for our honeymoon. I will say the place hardly changes. The style of the resort is wonderful. The location is perfect. And our view was spectacular! It is the nicest, cleanest, most comfortable resort I have ever sta y ed in and the CMs there are always wonderful and friendly. One definitely must stay there at least once in their life!
We ate at 'Ohana on our '99 trip and we just had to go back for our '00 trip. The food is wonderful and the servers are there to serve you yet not get in your way. Wonderful food, great service and decent price make this for a restaurant we always have to go to while there. We also at the concierge lounge. Let me say that the food there is outstanding. Great cookies and the "appetizers" at dinner time are always enough to make a meal out of it. We saved so much money by eating there in the morning & the evening.
I will have a hard time staying anywhere else ever again!" (10/00) Elaine

"The Polynesian was very relaxing and quiet. Although the parks were very crowded, it seemed as if we were the only ones at the Poly. This was the first time our family has gone since the kids are now older (14 and 21). On previous trips no one could rest, we were so anxious not to miss a minute at the parks. On this occasion, we found ourselves sleeping in, having a relaxing late breakfast, and not getting into the park until the afternoon. This was the first vacation we didn't feel like once we were at home that we needed another few days to get over the vacation. It was great!" (06/11-15/00) L Moore

"I stayed at the Polynesian and I was generally pleased although we had to switch our room because the people in the room next to us were too loud; a child was constantly crying. My only beef was that the walls seemed rather thin and it was hard to get a good nights rest. Everything else was nice. The staff was great! I give this resort a B." (2/01)

"I have been to Disney World several times as a child - staying at the Contemp. twice (1x tower & 1x garden wing), and one time at the Poly. I recently went back again for my honeymoon (my husband's 1st visit) and stayed at the Poly again. We absolutely loved it there. What beautiful and romantic it is at night watching the boat show & fireworks from the beach. The staff was so pleasant & on our first day there, the waitress @ the Kona Cafe gave us free lunch - to celebrate our marriage Disney style! It was a trip and stay we'll never forget! I recommend poly for any couples/honeymooners!" mattntara@aol.com
