Remember, only tip if you have been pleased with
the service.
And if you have had exceptional service, tip a
bit more than normal.
In restaurants, the usual tip is 15%-20% of the
total bill. You are tipping for the service, rather than the food quality.
For taxi drivers, tip around 15% of the total
fare.
For bell services, it's customary to tip $1 or
$2 per bag, both on arrival and departure.
For maid service/housekeeping, tip around $1 or
$1 per day. Make sure it's obvious that the money is for them, by placing
it under the card with your housekeeper's name on. Or, you could put
money in seperate envelopes before you arrive, writing the days on each
envelope. Add a little note or message with your tip, saying 'thank
you', or 'have a Disney day'. If you leave any plush Disney toys out
on display, you may have a nice surprise when you return to your room.
It's best to tip daily, as the regular housekeeper may have a day off
on the day that you leave the tip.
For valet parking, $1 or $2
In salons, tip around 15% of the total bill.
Remember that many people in the service industry
are on poor wages and rely on tips to make a living.
