Regina's Trip Report 05 - Day 5

Day 5 – Wednesday (Does anyone get anything right around here???)

We were up and dressed and showered early this morning and out of the room around 8:30. We have ressies for Crystal palace at 10 today so we need to make sure we have plenty of time on the way. This is the first time on the trip we’ve even stepped into Magic Kingdom so we took a few extra minutes strolling Main Street and looking at the castle.

We got to Crystal palace a few minutes early and sat outside waiting to be called. Breakfast was very enjoyable as usual and we were off and on our way about 11. After breakfast we took our usual turn to Adventureland and did the Tiki Birds and Pirates and then went to Frontierland to do Big Thunder Mountain RR and Splash Mountain. Clint is getting grouchy now so it’s time to head over to The Hall of Presidents so he can get a nap in. After Hall of Presidents, Clint got his powernap in and now I’m ready for Haunted Mansion. Lines were pretty moderate today. Nothing too bad but nothing terrible either.

At this point, we are all ready for a little R&R and possible a nap (#2 for Clint) so we head back to POFQ to get a little lunch and R&R. We are back on the road about 5 and have ressies for Liberty Tree Tavern at 6:30. We are staying for EMH tonight so we know we’ll have plenty of time to hit everything we want to. On the bus on the way there, the driver is talking about EMH and telling us that we need to go to the ticket booth before you go in to get your bracelet for EMH. Ok good, off we go right to the line since it isn’t long at all. Well, of course everyone ahead of us is taking forever to get they’re business taken care of. I’m in the blazing sun and about to pass out when the woman calls us up to the ticket window. After explaining to her why we were there, she told us we were in the wrong line and this isn’t where we go at all. We need to go inside and there are posted places where you pick up your bracelet and hands us the scheduled places. WHAT!@!! We waited in this line for absolutely nothing. At this point, the Jersey is starting to come out of me and we are going to miss our ressies for Liberty Tree Tavern. We’ll have to wait till after dinner to get our bracelets. After a rush down main street, we check in at Liberty Tree Tavern and stand on the side since there are no benches left. Long story short….we get seated, we eat, we see characters, we get pictures and the jersey in me calms down.

As soon as we were finished eating, it’s time to get those bracelets so that we don’t miss anymore time waiting on anything. Luckily one of the checkpoints is right outside of Liberty Tree Tavern. There was a pretty short line so we were off and running to get a good spot for wishes. Wishes was as usual fantastic. Kristen was glad she finally got to see fireworks since her on previous and only other trip, her family opted for the run out the door before the fireworks route. As soon as wishes was over, we head off to Tomorrowland to hit the necessary elements over there. First stop was to pick up a Fast Pass for Space mountain and then off to buzz Lightyear and that was followed by Stitches Escape.

I was very excited for Stitch’s escape and was waiting on baited breath to get in there. While we are standing online a woman with an infant leaves her family on line and heads over to a small spot to sit and breastfeed her infant. Now, I know this is a natural thing and I plan on doing it someday myself but I really hate when woman do this in public. Please don’t flame me here but I just don’t think it’s the proper thing and especially when you are in Disney World surrounded by families and many children. (yes, I’m done) Finally, we are in and seated and the attraction is about to start. Ok, why are people screaming? Nothing is happening here except me sitting like I’m going to bed. I hear stitch running but nothing is happening to me. I must have gotten in a bad seat because I didn’t get the full effect. Actually, I was kind of bored. Maybe next time I’ll get a better experience. I like Alien Encounter better.

On the way out of the gift shop, I’m on my search for my stitch jersey that I’ve seen everyone wearing and the CM at the counter tells me that I have to go to the other gift shop on the other side next to the Ice Cream place. Ok, I get there and it’s closed…what’s the deal now? Clint goes back in while I calm myself outside and finds out what is going on. Well, he gets the manager CM and they say no, the shirts are selling as fast as they put them out and there are none and proceeds to go to the previous CM and let him know not to send people to closed gift shops. Ok, now that we are through with that, it’s time for Space Mountain. Holy crap this is crowded good thing we have a FP. Call the moms to let them know we are all alive and then we head off out of Tomorrowland to do get into Philharmagic. It never ceases to amaze me how people go running to get inside the theatre. How have some of these people not realize yet that everyone will get a seat. I also won’t even get to the ones that stop right in the middle and make everyone else climb over them. It’s almost time for EMH to be over so we decide we are pretty tired and it’s time to head out after a little bit of shopping in all of the Main Street Stores.
