Wheelchairs are available for rental at $7 per day and Electric Convenience Vehicles ("ECV's) are available for rental at $35 per day. Each rental requires a $50 deposit (credit card imprint acceptable) or a valid photo ID. To ensure that an ECV is available during your visit, it is recommended that you call (407) 224-6350 at least 24 hours in advance to make a reservation.
Sign language interpreting services are available at Universal Studios Florida® or Islands of Adventure, at no charge. Please refer to the show schedule for interpreted performances upon arriving at the resort. In addition to interpreting services, closed captioning and assistive listening devices, guidebooks for guests with disabilities and attraction scripts are available at Guests Services in each theme park. TTY telephones are available throughout the parks, and are indicated in our Rider's Guide for Rider Safety and Guests With Disabilities. For guests with hearing impairments, Telecommunication Devices for the Deaf (TDDs) are located at the Guest Services Office and Health Services. Pay telephones with amplification devices are located throughout both parks and CityWalk.
For your enjoyment and convenience, Universal Orlando's shopping and dining facilities are wheelchair accessible. Also, our outdoor stage shows have areas reserved for guests with disabilities. These areas are clearly marked with the International Symbol of Accessibility.
In addition, all the queues are accessible to guests using wheelchairs (with the exception of Pteranodon Flyers® at Islands of Adventure and Back To The Future The Ride® at Universal Studios). There are specific boarding requirements and accommodations for those using wheelchairs at each attraction. In all cases, if you are capable of transferring to the ride vehicle's seating (either by yourself or with the assistance of another person in your party) you may transfer.
Additionally, certain attractions are capable of allowing guests to remain in their standard wheelchair throughout. In addition at Universal Studios Florida, the ride vehicles at Kongfrontation, Earthquake -- The Big One, E.T. Adventure, and JAWS accommodate wheelchairs without the need to transfer.
At Islands of Adventure, the ride vehicles at The Cat in the Hat, Caro-Seuss-el, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish accommodate wheelchairs without the need to transfer.
NOTE: We apologize, but due to their dramatic motion, none of the ride vehicles at Universal Orlando will accommodate Electric Convenience Vehicles (ECV's) or electric wheelchairs. At those rides which can accommodate standard wheelchairs, guests may transfer from their ECV or electric wheelchair into a standard wheelchair, which can be provided at each location.
Service Animals are welcome in all of our restaurant and merchandise locations, attraction queues and most other locations throughout Universal Orlando. Additionally, there are specific entry/boarding requirements for each attraction to assist the owner in making an informed decision about their animal's safe admission. Please consult the listing for each ride and attraction in the Rider's Guide for Rider Safety and Guests with Disabilities for more information.
All shows at both parks have specially marked seating for those utilizing wheelchairs for optimum viewing. Please see an attendant at any of the show amphitheaters and they will be more than happy to show you the seating areas.
