"This was the first "ride" I got on when I made it to Universal's main park. Mom and I used the Express Pass to get into the short line, but it didn't seem to make too much of a difference at first, with the pre-ride gab-fest from Steven Spielburg. That changed when we bypassed the main queing area, where the Elder of E.T.'s race was beseaching the visitors to help the little alien. When we got to the end of our line, it turned out the ride was experiencing technical difficulties! Yikes! But the two Universal cast members working there were doing their best from keeping us bored by just goofing around. When we finally got on the ride, it was a hoot! The first part is pretty intense with loud cars, shouting law officers and a fairly intense ride for the "dark house" genre. But there were nice touches throughout, including the hooting owl you zoom right by. The parts on E.T.'s planet, though, were absolutely beautiful. I think my Mom was a little surprised when E.T. thanked her! Definately use Express Pass on this ride, because there are a grand total of three lines for this sucker: Pre-Entry, Name Registration, and the actual ride-loading line. Great ride, adventurous kids will love it, 8 out of 10 stars." James
