The comic talents of Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz and John Lithgow return to give voice to the swamp-dwelling ogre, Shrek, his faithful companion, Donkey; his bride, Princess Fiona; and the vengeful ghost of Lord Farquaad in Shrek 4-D, an animated saga that picks up the story where the Oscar-winning feature film “Shrek” left off.
With 12 minutes of all-new 3-D animation, the tale begins as Shrek, Princess Fiona and their companion, Donkey set off for their honeymoon. But the ghost of Lord Farquaad interrupts the honeymooners’ bliss. Soon, the fairy-tale heroes are face-to-face with ghostly foes and the audience is transported into the center of a thrilling adventure packed with such fast-paced sequences as an aerial dogfight between fire-breathing dragons and a steep plunge down a 1,000-foot deadly waterfall.
Guests are ushered into a pre-show chamber where they are greeted by the late Lord Farquaad, who, posthumously, informs guests of his scheme to haunt Shrek, Princess Fiona and Donkey. The six-minute video and animatronic preamble prepares guests for their entry into the main theater and the wild adventure to follow.
Once settled in specially designed seats in the main auditorium, guests don OgreVision glasses and are transported to the fairy tale realm of Duloc. Surprising sensory elements help propel the narrative experience, with seats capable of both vertical and horizontal motion equipped with tactile transducers, pneumatic air propulsion and water spray nodules.
