Walt Disney World Inline Skate Marathon Weekend May 1st – 2nd

 

All Star Kids Classic May 1st 2004

Venue – Disney’s World of Sport Complex
Race Time – 1pm

If your kids like to skate and race then bring them along to Disney’s World Wide of Sports for a fun Saturday racing. All children that enter will receive finisher’s medals and have a fun day out too.

Representatives of the Skate and Fitness industries will present to answer any questions you have and to help you buy latest products and exhibit their latest products. The expo will take place in the Milk House from 10am – 6pm on the 1st of May. All participants must pick up there bag of goodies and race numbers from the Expo

Entry Fees
$5

Age Groups
3 - 6 year olds
7 – 9 year olds
10 – 12 year olds

Kids Races


3 – 6 year olds – 100 meter dash
7 – 9 year olds – 400 meter dash
10 – 12 yr olds – 1600 meter dash

Race Safety

All racers must wear a Helmet. Knee pads and Elbow pads are recommended for all racers safety.

Walt Disney Inline Skate Marathon – May 2nd 2004

Race Time – Pro Division 6 am
Open Division 6:45 am

The 2nd Inline skating marathon and half marathon will take place at Disney’s World Wide of Sports. The course is a 13.1-mile loop that starts and finishes at the Word of Sports Complex. The marathon will consist of 2 loops while the half marathon will be one loop.

Inline Skate Marathon Expo

Representatives of the Skate and Fitness industry will be present in the Milk House to answer your questions and sell there latest products. The Expo will be open from 10am till 6pm. All participants must pick up there goodie bag and race number at the Expo and sign the waiver Form.

$70 Marathon - $50 Half Marathon

April 2nd – May 1st
$80 Marathon - $60 Half Marathon

No entries will be allowed on Race Day

RACE DIVISIONS

Professional (Marathon Only): Elite skaters who are USAC, USAIR, or RWC certified
Professional Masters (Marathon Only): Elite skaters who are 35 or older who are USAC, USAIR, or RWC certified.
Open (Marathon and Half Marathon): Skaters who are able to maintain the minimum pacing requirements.

ELIGIBILITY

All athletes must be 13 years old or older.

RACE START

All Marathon and Half Marathon participants are encouraged to arrive no later than 5:00 a.m. Roads will begin closing at 5:30 a.m. All pro division participants must be in their staging zone by 5:30 a.m. and will be seeded by race number, according to his or her estimated skill category. For your safety, please line up in the appropriate wave. The waves will have signs and event personnel to assist you.

MARATHON AND HALF MARATHON PACING REQUIREMENTS

All athletes participating in the Marathon must be able to maintain a pace faster than 7-Minutes per mile. All athletes participating in the Half-Marathon must be able to maintain a pace faster than 9-Minutes and 10-Seconds per mile. Anyone not able to maintain these pacing requirements will be transported to the finish line.

RACE SAFETY

Helmets are mandatory to participate in the event. Participants in both the Half Marathon and the Marathon must be 13 years old or older. Knee, wrist guards and elbow pads are recommended. Only inline skates will be permitted. For safety reasons, baby joggers/strollers, headphones, skateboards, and animals will be prohibited on the racecourse.

AWARDS

Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in the Professional and Professional Master race divisions, along with the top three finishers in each age category for the Open race division.

An awards ceremony will take place at the Town Green, which is located at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex
